French rider prepares for his WorldSSP debut

Corentin Perolari will step into the GMT94 squad following the departure of Mike Di Meglio from the Yamaha team from the Pirelli Aragon Round onwards, looking ahead to a new challenge on the Yamaha YZF-R6.

19 year old Perolari has been racing since 2013, starting out in the Red Bull Rookies Cup. Making the move to CEV Moto2 in 2017, the French rider has been building his experience in the class and is now ready for the worldwide challenge. Preparing for a tough battle in the FIM Supersport World Championship as it heads into its third round, it’s one he is looking forward to.

Corentin Perolari explains: "When Christophe Guyot called me, I pinched myself to make sure I was awoken. For me, this opportunity is amazing. I dream of world speed and I am really happy to be able to start on Aragón's track that I especially like. Thanks to GMT94 for giving me this chance."

Team manager Christophe Guyot adds: "After Mike Di Meglio's defection, we could not offer to Niccolò Canepa or David Checa to take the place to allow them to fully devote themselves to the 24 Hours Motos which remains their priority. The whole team is happy to allow a very young French to access a world championship speed race. He will be able to count on our commitment to help him demonstrate qualities recognized by many observers of his career."

Follow the young French rider’s progress, all with the WorldSBK VideoPass as WorldSSP FP2, Superpole and the race are broadcast live on WorldSBK.com.
